TCPWave, a three-year-old company that builds customized server and router systems for Fortune 500 companies, has moved into an office on Alexander Road.

TCPWave marketing VP Eric Wagner said the company sets up servers with software and operating systems so that large corporations can add the machines to their data centers with little setup. Wagner said the devices are designed with security in mind. In particular, they are meant to resist a popular form of hacking called a distributed denial of service attack.

The company was founded three years ago in Aston, Pennsylvania. They moved to Princeton last year and opened their Alexander Road office in June, with five employees. They also have a similar-sized operation in India.

Wagner said the company maintains an office in India so that they can provide 24-hour customer support. The Princeton office handles calls during the day and the Indian team takes over at night.

The Princeton location is ideal, Wagner said, because it is close to many of TCPWave’s clients in New York City, Washington and Philadelphia. Those clients include large banks and telecom companies.

Wagner said TCPWave will double its staff in the near future because of new business. .We are in an exciting field with high growth and high demand. We got in a little ahead of the game before it was popular,. Wagner said.
